Proximity is Power: My Takeaways from CCC NYC with Industry Icons
A few months ago, we committed to attending the Contractors, Closers & Connections event that was scheduled for the New York City Equity Multiple.
Led by CCC Founder Chris Maier and hosted by Jonathan Iger, CEO of Sage Realty Corporation, the event exceeded every expectation.
The speaker lineup was equally impressive:
Bob Knakal, Chairman of BKRE
Jay Patel, Managing Partner of JMS Family Office
Dave Seymour, CEO of Freedom Venture Investments
Ray Heigmann, Managing Director of Terra Capital
But the inspiration didn’t stop there.
Before the event, we had the incredible privilege of joining Bob Knakal for a private tour of his legendary map room—a space that displays every building in New York City.
It’s said that Bob is 39 out of 30 (yes, you read that right) in deals pitched in that room.
Why?
Because he’s the undeniable expert in his field. Standing in that room, surrounded by a visual testament to his work, you feel it—you’re in the presence of greatness.
So again, I ask: What steps do you take to allow inspiration into your life?
For me, it’s choosing to be in the room with the best of the best.
It’s about building relationships, having meaningful conversations, finding ways to create value—and letting the success of others fuel my own drive toward excellence.
Now it’s your turn.
What’s something you’ve done lately that inspired you?
I’d love to hear your story.
